13th Month: Where to next?!

April 9th: Mamma Mia, here we go again!✈️ What a day! I went for one last run along the harbor in Auckland yesterday, and then it was really time to get ready. Ready to leave this beautiful country. No. I’m not really feeling ready. I feel soooo alive in New Zealand! Hiking, mountains, waterfalls, beaches, dolphins, everything! But, it’s time for a whole different adventure. Off to… Guess where I’m heading? You’ll read it later for sure! I called my parents for a bit as i still had time enough but the wifi connection was insanely poor so not much of a conversation… But, time to go to the airport! I had to wait an hour still before i could check-in, so I FaceTimed my host kids in Philly. Lovely to see them for a bit! I also got to say hi to the rest of the family as they were together for Easter and just went on a little trip to the Keys. I miss them so much! When i checked in my luggage and went through the security, I saw Froukje! We sat together for a bit till we knew our gates and t...

12th month: New Zealand!

March 12th: Welcome to Kiwi Land 🇳🇿 The time is there. Australia, you were absolutelu stunning! I’ll Miss you so much! With Tears in my eyes I left OZ today. Can’t wait to be back already. But it’s time for a new adventure. New Zealand, here I come! After a bit of drama at Sydney airport because it was closed between 11 PM and 4 AM and loosing one of my running shoes, it still worked out fine. Got my shoe back! Yay! At 9 I could finally check in and I was starving as I didn’t really have dinner because I was flying from the afternoon till the night and then the airport was closed. So I ate something before my next flight already. At 11 AM we could finally board. When we departed I started crying. I couldn’t help it. Australia felt like my home. I didn’t want to leave this place yet. And yes, I can always go back, but I have other plans at the moment… At 5 PM local time, I arrived in Auckland. Thought I could go straight through the security but damn, this queue was endless…....

11th month: New adventure!

February 7th: Time for a new adventure! Today it was finally time for my new adventure in Southern Cross. I’m gonna work for a hotel here called ‘Palace hotel’. I need to finish a few more days of my 88 days and this postal code counts for this and I am also gonna save a little more for the rest of my travels to New Zealand and wherever else I wanna go to. I walked around the city after checking out at the hostel and I met Sanne down stairs. We walked together and later went back to the hostel and I waited for a message from Liz, the manager, to pick me up. She arrived around 1 PM and seemed very nice. Apparently she’s Irish which now clarifies the different accent I noticed while talking to her on the phone. The drive to Southern cross took about 4 hours from Perth. We talked a lot and it wasn’t awkward at all which I was very pleased about. After helping her getting all the stuff from the car she showed me around the hotel and brought me to my hotel room which I’m gonna stay in...

10th month: New adventure!

January 7th: Back in Adelaide after 9 months! Last night I finally arrived in Adelaide after a 2 hour delay and not sleeping 3 nights in total… I had to wait to check in at the hostel so I waited and then this idiot decided to go for a run.. I know. Who does that after not sleeping for 3 days…? Me? 7 km it was for today, cause then I accepted I was too tired to run further. I took a shower and felll asleep like a baby so fast. Apparently my roomies tend to be really quiet as they didn’t want to wake me up. So sweet! When I woke up my Dutch friend Dara (who I met in San Francisco) asked me if I wanted to go for a drink with a group other Dutchies. My body told me ‘no’ but my mind said ‘YAS’, so of cours I went. What a craziness… It was so much fun!  Even though the club wasn’t a big success, we made the best out of it all together!  January 8th: Beach Please! Sunday I started the morning again with a run and I ran 12 in this time. So beautiful the nature around here! Aft...
